Squid Game season 2 is here and it’s changing people’s lives with its stellar plot, but for one woman, it just about ruined hers.
While the world tuned into Netflix’s top performing original TV show, another woman was battling with the ramifications of the series.
It’s been three years since the fantastic debut of season 1, which saw Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, battle it out against all odds to become the ultimate winner out of 456 contestants.
Season 2 picks right back up where it left off, having Gi-hun enter the game one more time to attempt to take own the shadowy overlords running the terrible competition which sees all but one person die.
However, the series had to quickly rectify a mistake after it accidentally ruined a woman’s life.
Hwang Dong-hyuk’s masterpiece featured a lot of little details, and one of which meant that a woman was barely able to live her life as normal.
In one scene in season 1, there was an eight-digit number on the Squid Game business card given to Gi-hun.
Now, if you add the South Korean mobile prefix, (010) it becomes a phone number you can really dial.
Unfortunately, people did go on to dial it and in 2021, a Seongju local became inundated by calls around the clock.
Kim Gil-young used this number for her business, as she was self-employed and had to suffer from 24-hour calls and texts.
She told Money Today at the time: “Since the airing of Squid Game, I’ve been receiving texts and calls 24 hours a day, to the point where it’s difficult to live my daily life.
“This is a number that I’ve been using for more than 10 years, so I’m quite taken aback. There are more than 4,000 numbers that I’ve had to delete from my phone.
“I get calls out of curiosity day and night without any sense of time, to the point where my phone battery would run out in half a day.”
While the number also appeared in episode 2, it was eventually taken out of further scenes.
“At first, I didn’t know what it meant, but I found out when my friends told me, ‘Your number appears in Squid Game,’” she added.
Gil-young complained to Netflix and the production company Siren Pictures.
Netflix said at the time: “Together with the production company, we are working to resolve this matter, including editing scenes with phone numbers where necessary.”
Just weeks later, her number was replaced with 010-034, which is totally uncallable.
While the business card does appear in Squid Game Season 2, that business card does show up again, it’s not the woman’s number again.
If you’ve not yet watched season 2, we spoke exclusively to the show’s creator, Dong-hyuk, who wrote Squid Game.
He shared that it’s a lot ‘darker’ than the first instalment, telling us: “What I can say for sure is that compared to season one, it’s going to be greater in scale. It’s going to be more intriguing.
“Some games are going to be more comical than ones you’ve seen in the past, and some are going to be even darker and more brutal than what you’ve seen in season one.
“There’s going to be a greater amount of entertaining factors, a huge range of experiences.
“It’s going to give you some really extremely sad, heartbreaking moments.”
Bride’s Wine Glass Photo Turns Into a Hilarious Instagram Nightmare
Sometimes, despite our best intentions, things just don’t go our way. And sometimes they go so spectacularly wrong that all we can do is laugh at life’s funny little blunders.
Her unfortunate mistake shows that not all popular posts are famous for the reasons that we intend. This was one picture that reflected something we’re sure few people will ever forget.
Just married, TikToker Jenny Parrish was ready for some elegant wine glass photos
After her wedding, Jenny and her new husband headed to their newlywed suite, where Parrish decided to take some classy photos with her wine glass.
Unfortunately, her pictures weren’t nearly as elegant (or modest) as she had hoped.
She realized her mistake when it was already much too late
While we imagine the wine was delicious, that’s not what got everyone’s attention.
To Parrish’s horror, her friend messaged her with the very unfortunate news that every one of her Instagram followers could see her naked body reflected in the wine glass.
Although she promptly took the picture down, it had already been viewed by a lot of people
Friends, co-workers, and perhaps worst of all, her own mother-in-law.
So, you know, family get-togethers are going to be a little awkward for a while, unless her dear old MIL has a really good sense of humor.
She took to TikTok to share the story of her unintentionally racy post where it quickly went viral
In that video, Parrish enjoys another glass of wine (G-rated this time) while laughing about the whole ordeal, explaining that the photo received around 74 likes on Instagram.
Her embarrassing story has clearly resonated with people on TikTok as it currently has over 1.6 million views and nearly 300,000 likes as of writing.
People have actually found her reaction to the situation pretty endearing
Most of the users who commented on the video applauded Parrish for finding humor in such an awkward situation, and others expressed that this is a mistake that just about anyone could see themselves making.
One person even wrote, “Not me going to double-check reflections of every picture I’ve ever posted.”
If nothing else, we think Parrish’s experience should serve as a warning to all of us Instagram posters
Before you hit that “post” button, maybe take an extra second to really check over your photo and make sure there aren’t any lingering mistakes that just might make it impossible to look your MIL in the eye for the next 30 years.
Let us know what you think of Jenny Parrish’s little mistake in the comments and whether you ever fear you’ll make a similar one!
Man Known As ‘Living Nostradamus’ Unveils His Chilling Seven Predictions For 2025
The year 2025 is here, and with every new full Earth rotation around the sun, people are motivated to turn their lives around, too.
Whether going to the gym three times a week, doing daily meditation, or finally starting your meal-prepping plans, people tend to make resolutions that magically disappear come February.
But one man, known as the ‘living Nostradamus,’ has made seven scary global predictions for 2025.
The man is known from previous years
Athos Salomé, the 38-year-old man from Brazil, is quite frequently referred to as the ‘living Nostradamus’, referring to the 1500s’ French astrologer who wrote famously cryptic predictions.
Salomé is credited with predictions of the COVID-19 pandemic and Queen Elizabeth’s death.
He made predictions for 2025
You have to admit, being able to predict things like the pandemic that reshaped the way we live our lives or the death of the Queen is a bit scary.
For the year of 2025, the ‘living Nostradamus’ has given seven terrifying predictions, and these are them.
Losing control of Artificial Intelligence
One of Salomé’s predictions, which he gave to the Daily Star, says by the end of the coming year of 2025, AI will have become out of human control.
He believes a global incident may expose how little control we have over these technologies, which is a little worrying if you ask me.
Engineered climate disasters
The gifted Brazilian believes that geo-engineering, which is now becoming more and more popular, may result in causing climate disasters such as droughts in unexpected locations.
This would mean that our manufacturing will have been the root cause of those disasters, yikes!
Exposure of military secrets
The modern-day Nostradamus also speculates that secrets about underground bases or advanced technologies like gravitational propulsion will be exposed.
He predicts that the information will come in the form of leaks about secret military operations, which will expose the global powers.
Contact with extraterrestrial beings
His next prediction is one that, admittedly, we’ve all heard before, but the ‘living Nostradamus’ believes that in 2025, authorities will finally reveal that they have come in contact with the extraterrestrial.
Well, that’s certainly going to be an interesting one if it plays out!
Gene experiments on humans
Okay, this one, in my humble opinion, is scarier than finding out about aliens.
Salomé sees secret genetic experiments on humans being exposed next year with scientists potentially revealing how corporations and governments have been spending resources creating “perfected individuals.”
Monitoring the population
Prediction number 6 comes hand in hand with the one about genetically modifying the ‘perfect’ person.
The modern day Nostradamus warns that human populations will be monitored and controlled with things like implantable chips that will be thought to have characteristics of advancing health and security.
A global energy crisis
One of the scariest predictions by the gifted man is a manufactured global energy crisis that will be used to control people around the world in 2025.
He believes things like zero-point energy generators may be invented but will be out of reach for most of the population.
What does 2025 actually hold?
So there you have it, these are the seven predictions for 2025 by the ‘living Nostradamus,’ the same man who predicted the COVID-19 crisis and Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter – now known as X.
Will any of these come true? I guess time will tell.
Harrowing Final Words Of Man Before He And Girlfriend Were Eaten Alive By Bear On Camera
The harrowing final words of a man and his girlfriend, who were eaten alive by a bear, can be heard in chilling audio footage.
Timothy Treadwell, known as the ‘Grizzly Man,’ had a passion for bears, which led to his career in environmentalism and documentary filmmaking.
In particular, he focused on the grizzly bears of Alaska’s Katmai National Park.
Treadwell was said to be so comfortable around the creatures that he gave them names and considered them friends.
Yet tragically, his and his partner’s life would end in a horrific bear attack on October 5, 2003.
The committed filmmaker openly expressed his aversion to modern society – he found solace in the wilderness among bears rather than the hustle and bustle of towns and cities.
In the late 1980s, he spent 13 summers in Alaska, camping along the Katmai Coast, renowned for its abundant grizzly population.
Treadwell divided his time between Big Green, a grassy area on Hallo Bay ideal for bear sightings, and Kaflia Bay, a dense and wooded area known as the Grizzly Maze, offering closer bear encounters.
His interactions with the bears, documented on film, often involved risky proximity, including touching and playing with bear cubs.
Despite persistent warnings from park authorities, Treadwell persisted in his pursuit to get up close and personal with the bears.
Ultimately, this led to him meeting his demise.
In October 2003, Treadwell and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, were camping in the Grizzly Maze beyond the usual season when they encountered a bear during its feeding period.
It is dangerous for humans to be nearby during this time, even more so for Treadwell with his lack of defensive measures against the predator.
Air taxi pilot Willy Fulton would discover a bone-chilling scene.
Fulton arrived at the campsite in the Alaskan wilderness for a scheduled pick-up after the couple’s bear study expedition.
He would come across a disturbing sight – a massive bear, described as ‘the meanest looking,’ feasting on human remains.
Treadwell and Huguenard’s tent was collapsed and torn, a meal had been left untouched and shoes were laid outside neatly by the door.
But the most disturbing sight was a mound of grass nearby, concealing human body parts, including fingers and an arm.
Investigators would also uncover Treadwell’s severed and mutilated head, along with his detached right arm still adorned with a wristwatch.
The pieces fell into place, painting a gruesome picture of the couple’s fate.
The discovery of a six-minute audio recording, capturing the horrifying sounds of the attack, added another layer of tragedy to the already harrowing tale.
Although Treadwell hadn’t removed the lens cap on his camera, the microphone was still running.
The audio recording from the incident revealed the harrowing cries of the couple as they faced the bear’s onslaught.
Huduenard’s desperate attempts to intervene, followed by Treadwell’s anguished screams, portrayed a scene of unimaginable horror.
Subsequent investigation uncovered that the bear responsible for the attack had consumed a significant portion of human remains.
The tragic incident would become the subject of Werner Herzog’s award-winning documentary, Grizzly Man, which delved into Treadwell’s life and fatal encounter with the bears he had grown so close to.
In the doc, Herzog can be seen with his hands over his face as he listens to the tape recording of Treadwell’s final moments.
The filmmaker advises people to ‘never listen to this.’
He also warns: “And you must never look at the photos I’ve seen at the coroner’s office. I think you should not keep it, you should destroy it.”
In the horrific six minutes of audio, Treadwell can be heard screaming: “Get out here! I’m getting killed out here!”
He encourages Huguenard to ‘hit the bear’ while she urges him to ‘fight back.’
Huguenard hits the animal with a frying pan before her agonizing screams are heard as the tape cuts out.
