John Wayne is arguably the most iconic name in American film – more than an actor, he was a national treasure. Now the Wayne Family is sharing the star’s personal letters, telegrams, cards and never-before seen photos in Duke: In His Own Words, published by Media Lab Books.

Daily Mail Online was provided these exclusive photos and letters from The John Wayne Archives to share with its readers.Born Marion Robert Morrison on May 26, 1907 in Winterset, Iowa, he was the father of seven children, with an age gap of more than thirty years. He showered his kids with lavish gifts but made sure they knew the value of hard work.

He had three wives, multiple affairs, palled around with Ward Bond and Frank Sinatra – and was never one to shy away from offering up advice to the President of the United States. ‘Duke’, ‘Everlovin’, or just ‘Dad’ to his family and friends was born in the Midwest but soon resettled in southern California with his family to accommodate his own father’s lung condition.

It was the move westward that introduced the rugged 6’4′ man’s – and woman’s – man to the Hollywood movie studios. He had lost his football scholarship to the University of Southern California after a body surfing accident. He actually never scored a touchdown.With no funds for school, he left and went on to be a prop boy and extra in movies in the 1920s.

Come 1930, he was given his first starring role in The Big Trail and that’s when the screen name John Wayne came to life. He moved on to star in westerns that eventually translated into box office gold for five decades until his ԁеаtһ on June 11, 1979. Wayne ԁıеԁ of stomach cancer at the age of 72.But he left behind a legacy with his seven kids. Wayne was married three times – all Latina women.

Chloe Grace Mortez has confirmed she is engaged to Playboy model Kate Harrison after coming out.

Mortez previously came out as gay while endorsing Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election.

Sharing a photo of her ‘I voted early 2024’ sticker, the 27-year-old wrote: “I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris. There is so much on the line this election. I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor. Kamala Harris will protect that for us.

“I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman. We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve”

Mortez has been previously linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018, but had never publicly come out.

The actress has previously spoken out about LGBTQ+ rights and the urgency for legal representation.

Speaking to The Independent in 2018, she said: “I don’t see myself as a homosexual, I don’t see myself as anything. These are all societal pressures that we’re being labelled as.”

“We’re all human, trying to be with the people that we fall in love with and be the best person that we can be.”

She further added, “But don’t assume people’s sexualities. And don’t project your own issues onto them. Why don’t we let people be who they wanna be?”

The star has now shared a photo on social media of herself and Harrison wearing matching rings on their left hands. The photo was included in a 2024 year round up.

The star had previously shared a photo of herself wearing that ring back in June.

Rumors of the couples engagement started back in April – but it appears the actress has now confirmed them.

Bride’s Wine Glass Photo Turns Into a Hilarious Instagram Nightmare

Sometimes, despite our best intentions, things just don’t go our way. And sometimes they go so spectacularly wrong that all we can do is laugh at life’s funny little blunders.

Her unfortunate mistake shows that not all popular posts are famous for the reasons that we intend. This was one picture that reflected something we’re sure few people will ever forget.

Just married, TikToker Jenny Parrish was ready for some elegant wine glass photos

After her wedding, Jenny and her new husband headed to their newlywed suite, where Parrish decided to take some classy photos with her wine glass.

Unfortunately, her pictures weren’t nearly as elegant (or modest) as she had hoped.

She realized her mistake when it was already much too late

While we imagine the wine was delicious, that’s not what got everyone’s attention.

To Parrish’s horror, her friend messaged her with the very unfortunate news that every one of her Instagram followers could see her naked body reflected in the wine glass.

Although she promptly took the picture down, it had already been viewed by a lot of people

Friends, co-workers, and perhaps worst of all, her own mother-in-law.

So, you know, family get-togethers are going to be a little awkward for a while, unless her dear old MIL has a really good sense of humor.

She took to TikTok to share the story of her unintentionally racy post where it quickly went viral

In that video, Parrish enjoys another glass of wine (G-rated this time) while laughing about the whole ordeal, explaining that the photo received around 74 likes on Instagram.

Her embarrassing story has clearly resonated with people on TikTok as it currently has over 1.6 million views and nearly 300,000 likes as of writing.

People have actually found her reaction to the situation pretty endearing

Most of the users who commented on the video applauded Parrish for finding humor in such an awkward situation, and others expressed that this is a mistake that just about anyone could see themselves making.

One person even wrote, “Not me going to double-check reflections of every picture I’ve ever posted.”

If nothing else, we think Parrish’s experience should serve as a warning to all of us Instagram posters
